Our research themes focus on analyzing the factors that determine the population’s health and wellbeing; and providing analytical frameworks to support decisions in the health and social care systems. HEART’s research encompasses Health Related Quality of Life outcomes, with empirical and theoretical contributions. We also conduct comprehensive Cost of Illness studies and applied Economic Evaluations, shedding light on the economic burden of various health conditions and risk factors; and measuring the outcomes of alternative policies, services or interventions. Among other pressing topics, we study the impact of macroeconomic conditions on the population’s health. Ageing and dependecy are also included in the scope of our research interest.
